Utilities Act 2000

The Utilities Act 2000 (c 27) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that deals with the gas and electrical markets in the UK. It mainly modified the Gas Act 1986, the Gas Act 1995 and Electricity Act 1989.

New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA)

The NRSWA was created to ensure that anyone who works in the street works industry is qualified for the activities being carried out. It requires organisations to ensure that work to install, renew, maintain and inspect underground apparatus in the street is controlled by competent people.

The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002

The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 (ESQCR) regulates quality and supply continuity requirements as well as specifying safety standards. Compliance to ESQCR is a statutory requirement for distribution network operators (DNO’s).
